Box Score MACON, Ga.- Wesleyan College put together a complete performance on Sunday, defeating Paine College 9–2 behind a strong offensive showing and a steady outing in the circle.
Wesleyan broke through in the top of the third inning, manufacturing two runs without the benefit of a hit.
Kyrstin Barnard grounded out to bring home the first run, and
Sydnee Mcelveen followed with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 2–0.
Paine responded in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run home run to left field, briefly tying the game at 2–2, but that is all they would get off of Freshman Pitcher
Savannah Wren on the day.
In the circle, Wren delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just three hits and two runs—both unearned—over the full seven innings. She did not issue a walk and struck out one, keeping Paine off balance throughout the game.
Mcelveen led the offensive charge, finishing with three hits and four runs batted in. She delivered a two-run single in the fourth inning to regain the lead and added another two-run single in the sixth to help Wesleyan pull away.
Wesleyan's offense was balanced throughout the lineup.

Taylor Laviano each recorded multiple hits, while the team showed patience at the plate with four walks.
With the win, Wesleyan showcased its ability to respond to adversity and maintain pressure offensively, using timely hitting and clean execution to secure the 9–2 victory.
