MACON, Ga. — Wesleyan College volleyball continued its early-season growth with a pair of matches against Point University and Life University in Macon.
The Wolves fell in straight sets to Point on Friday, 25-8, 25-16 and 25-12, before returning Saturday against Life, falling 25-13, 25-14 and 25-11. Despite the results, Wesleyan showed several encouraging individual performances and improvement in multiple areas.
Against Point, Wesleyan's strongest stretch came in the second set, when the Wolves reached 16 points. The team finished with 16 kills, 33 digs and 16 assists. Ella Allison led the back row with 12 digs, while Leah Baggett added four kills and four digs. Mayah Misi contributed two kills, an ace and a block assist.
Ashlyn Adams paced the attack with six kills and added six digs, while Illise Quaye directed the offense with 12 assists and four digs.
Wesleyan showed progress Saturday, recording three service aces and four total blocks.
Quaye delivered a balanced performance with two kills, two aces, six digs, five assists and a block assist while hitting .400. Amaya Harris also hit .400 with two kills, while Jamie Adams and Quaye shared the team lead with six digs.
They will be back on the court traveling to Cuthbert Ga to take on Andrew College on 9/25 starting at 6:00PM.
