Taggart To Lead Wolves Volleyball

Wesleyan College is proud to announce the appointment of Cadin Taggart as the new Head Volleyball Coach for the Wolves program. Taggart brings a strong background in collegiate athletics, academic achievement, and national-level coaching experience to Wesleyan after spending the past two seasons as the Head Volleyball Coach at University of Maine at Fort Kent. During Taggart's tenure, the program earned national recognition while emphasizing student-athlete development both on and off the court. Despite competing with a seven-player roster, Taggart guided the team to the National Tournament and a fourth-place national finish while coaching two First Team All-Americans, four Second Team All-Americans, and one All-Academic Team selection.

A graduate of SUNY Canton with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sports Management, Taggart built an impressive academic and athletic résumé as a student-athlete. Accomplishments included earning President's Honor List recognition, North Atlantic Conference Fall 2022 All-Academic Team honors, Academic All-District recognition, and Honors Convocation recognition for achieving the highest GPA in the major for their class year. Taggart also received the SUNY Canton Athletic Department Award presented to the graduating female student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA, was nominated for the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, and earned the SUNY Canton Baccalaureate Award in 2024. With 10 years of playing experience and a passion for mentorship, Taggart brings a competitive yet family-oriented philosophy focused on developing well-rounded student-athletes prepared for success beyond their collegiate careers.

"I am excited to continue my coaching career at Wesleyan College," Taggart said. "With experience competing and coaching at the national level, I look forward to bringing a strong competitive spirit and a family-oriented approach to this program. I am eager to work with our student-athletes to build a positive, supportive environment while maintaining a high level of competitiveness on the court."

Taggart continued, "We will strive to compete for national championships while holding ourselves to equally high standards in the classroom. I am committed to ensuring our athletes grow and improve every day, together. More importantly, I want each athlete to believe that their goals are achievable and that they are supported every step of the way. Building lasting relationships and creating a culture where our athletes know we are always in their corner will be at the heart of everything we do."
