Wolves top Scotties in 3 sets

Macon, GA- Wolves volleyball kicked off the festivities of homecoming week with a Pink Out bang taking their CCS match-up against the Scotties of Agnes Scott by a final of 3-0 at Mount Desales high school yesterday evening. 

Freshman Leah Bagget led the Wolves on the night finishing with 13 points consisting of 7 kills and 6 service aces to go along with 3 digs defensively, while fellow Freshman Ashlyn Adams contributed 8 points of her own with 5 kills and 3 aces. 

The Wolves were in control from the opening serve, taking a 7-6 lead early in the first set and building on the lead to finish 25-15. The Wolves were on fire serving the ball in the first set securing 7 points by aces consisting of a trio of aces by Ashlyn Adams and one each for Mayah Misi, Leah Bagget, Audrianna Jones, and Amaya Harris

The Scotties showed life in the second  set taking the first 4 points before the Wolves roared back to grab the lead at 6-5 and held it the rest of the way to finish the set 25-15. The lead was built on the arm of Amaya Harris as she contributed 3 more service aces to kick off a 10-1 Wolves run to put set 2 out of reach. 

Set 3 was the Mia Huguley show as the Freshman entered the match for the first time and helped to put the Scotties away with a 7 point performance consisting of 4 kills and 3 service aces to go along with 3 digs. Also contributing in the clinching third set were Freshman Camryon Redding who finished with a kill and a service ace, and Junior Pippa Tilley who finished with 2 aces, a kill, and 18 assists on the night. 

This win moves the Wolves to 4 and 10 on the season, 2-8 in CCS play, with a CCS tri-match in Porter Gymnasium with the Belhaven Blazers and Covenant Scots slated for Saturday.
