Mount Vernon, GA - After a two week break from play, the Wesleyan College softball team returned to the field on the road at Brewton Parker College on Friday afternoon. The Wolves hit the ball well in both games but were edged out by the Barons, falling 9-4 and 10-7.
Notables:
- Senior Claire Crawford hit the ball extremely well today, going 2-for-3 with two hits, two RBIs, and a home run in Game 1. In Game 2, she hit 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI to go along with three stolen bases.
- Freshman Savanna Boyette also hit the ball well with a 2-for-3 (RBI) outing in Game 1. She added another hit and a run scored in Game 2.
Quotable:
Wesleyan head softball coach Dickey Hightower remarked, ""We played pretty well today, but we helped Brewton Parker out a lot in the first game and then with a 6-0 lead in the second game, the wheels came off and we couldn't get back on track. However, we hit the ball well and had several key hits at critical times. I was proud of the way we played and supported our teammates today, and we will try to wrap up the season with a couple of wins at LaGrange on Sunday.""
