This past weekend, the Wesleyan College equestrian team traveled to Georgia Southern University to compete in an IHSA show, delivering strong performances across multiple divisions. The Wolves showcased both consistency and growth, with seasoned riders securing top finishes and new team members making impressive debuts.
Team captain Nieve Leyne led by example, earning 3rd and 4th place finishes in the Intermediate Equitation division. Freshman Ginger Harrison continued to make her mark, placing 4th in Limit Equitation on the second day of competition.
The Novice Equitation division proved to be a highlight for Wesleyan, with Sunny Iskra securing a 3rd place finish on the first day and improving to 2nd place on the second day. Teammate Lilly Boyer also performed well, earning a 3rd place finish in the same division. Senior Olivia Troyer demonstrated impressive consistency, finishing 2nd both days in her section of Novice Equitation.
In the Introductory Equitation division, Ambrosia Davis and Natylia Hambright made their IHSA debuts for the Wolves, riding with confidence and poise to earn respectable placings on both days. Taylor Erlewine gained valuable competition experience in her second outing for the team, demonstrating adaptability as she navigated new and unfamiliar horses in the Introductory Equitation division.
With strong performances across the board, the Wesleyan Wolves continue to build momentum as they progress through the season. Their dedication and hard work were evident in the ring, and the team looks forward to carrying this success into their upcoming competition at the College of Charleston next weekend.
