Rocky Mount, NC - The Wesleyan College softball team had a better day at the plate, but the hits came without runners in scoring position, so the Wolves could never push runs across the plate against NC Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The Battling Bishops took two from the Wolves, winning 8-0 and 3-0.
Notables:
- Sophomore Alyssa Flowers and freshman Savanna Boyette led the Wolves offense with three hits each, combining for six of Wesleyan's nine hits on the day.
- Flowers and Miriam Grant hit for extra bases in Game 2, both pounding out doubles
Quotable:
Wesleyan head coach Dickey Hightower remarked, ""We got a few more hits today and hit the ball hard, but NC Wesleyan made some nice defensive plays as well. Jordan Mingorance pitched a great game today, and Alyssa and Savanna had a good day with the bat. All of our players are giving 100% and we are looking forward to winning a few more games before we finish up this season.
