NOTABLES:
- Freshman Ashley Bush led the Wolves offense in her collegiate debut, going 2-for-3 from the plate with two singles in Wesleyan's season opener.
- Last year's GSAC Player of the Year, Jema Bravo, picked up where she left off at the end of last season. The junior captain went 3-for-6 from the plate on the day and had no errors in the field at her shortstop position.
- Freshmen Ashley Bush and Alyssa Flowers and junior Rebecca Otwell all made their collegiate softball debuts against the Scots.
QUOTABLE:
""We have to give a veteran Covenant team a lot of credit for coming out and hitting the ball well today, but I believe we can play better, especially when we get back to full strength,"" remarked Wesleyan head coach Dickey Hightower. ""Covenant played well and hit the ball, but I thought Mellissa Webb pitched well today in her game, only giving up three earned runs. We have some things we need to work on before we go to Coastal Georgia next Saturday, so we'll get to work this week and see what we can take away from today.""
