Macon, GA - Stringing together numerous hits in each game, Covenant College used an impressive offensive performance on Tuesday afternoon to its advantage, defeating Wesleyan by scores of 18-0 and 16-1.
In the day's first game, the Scots piled up 22 hits, five of which went for extra bases, while the Pioneers struggled from the plate and were unable to put any runners on base. Game two saw more of the same from Covenant, who managed another 16 hits, two of which were out of the park home runs by Courtney Wagoner. Wesleyan picked up three hits (Colleen DeGraff, Sara McMahon and Hannah Finch), but they could not match the strong performance of the Scots.
Wesleyan caps off a six-game homestand tomorrow afternoon when Judson College comes to Macon to take on the Pioneers. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3:00pm.
