Kyle Herring was named the Wesleyan Basketball head coach in October of 2018.
Prior to taking over the Wolves' program, Coach Herring did two stints totalling five years as an assistant women's coach at Chipola College where he was a key contributor for two Pan Handle Conference Championships (2014, 2015), two Region 8 Championships (2014, 2015), two NJCAA Elite 8 appearances (2013, 2017), an NJCAA Final Four appearance (2014), and an NJCAA National Championship (2015).
In between stints at Chipola, Coach Herring spent the 2015-2016 season as an assistant women's coach at South Plains College where they advanced the the Region 5 Tournament. Prior to his time at in the Pan Handle Conference, Herring was an assistant at Cumberland University from 2009-2012 where his recruiting efforts yielded a team that would go on to post a record of 33-2 while winning the Mid-South Conference and advancing to the NAIA Final Four. Herring began his coaching career at Southeastern Illinois College where they won three GRAC Championships, three Region 24 Championships, and qualified for three NJCAA Tournaments in his three seasons as an assistant coach (2004-2006). Southeastern Illinois didn't lose a conference game during Herring's tenure, and they made two NJCAA Elite 8 appearances (2005, 2006).
Additionally, Coach Herring has coached two WNBA first round draft picks, Amber Holt at Southeastern Illinois and Evelyn Akhator at Chipola.
Coach Herring earned a bachelors degree in General Studies from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007, and an associates degree in General Studies from Southeastern Illinois College in 1999. Herring currently resides in Macon, Georgia.
