Macon, GA - Oglethorpe University played the spoiler in Wesleyan's home opener on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Wolves tennis team 9-0. Wesleyan not only faced a strong lineup from the Stormy Petrels, but they also had to contend with a 50 minute weather delay at the Mathews Athletic Complex.
"Today's match against Oglethorpe was a tough one for us," remarked the Wolves first year head coach, Alex Kosicki. "They were a strong, consistent team that outplayed us. However, our ladies played until the very end with heart and determination. I continue to be impressed with our composure and our will to win. Although there are more improvements to make, I am confident that this team is heading in a positive direction."
"We'd like to thank all those who braved the weather to come watch and cheer on our team today. Your support encourages these ladies more than you know."
