The Wesleyan College cross country team wrapped up its 2012 season on Saturday morning, finishing third at the Great South Athletic Conference Championship behind champions Spelman College and runners up Salem College.

Rome, GA - Wesleyan College competed in its final event before the season-ending Great South Athletic Conference Championship, placing 15th overall at the Viking Open hosted by Berry College.

Competing in the Spelman Invitational at the Boundary Waters Park in Douglasville, GA, senior Ashly Annecchiarico finished eighth overall on the course that Wesleyan will run for the GSAC Championship at the end of October.

Macon, GA - Ashly Annecchiarico paced the Wesleyan cross country squad for the third straight meet, breaking the 28-minute mark at the Truett-McConnell Invitational.

The Wesleyan College cross country team saw significant improvement in their times this weekend at the Mercer RunFit Invitational at the Georgia Children's Industrial Home course near campus. The Pioneers were one of 19 teams competing in the race.

Pine Manor College of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts has accepted an invitation to join the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC). The Gators become the league’s seventh active member for the upcoming school year and are immediately eligible to compete for GSAC Championships.

Krista Wieters is the newest member of the Wesleyan College coaching staff, replacing new mother Melissa Bush as the Pioneers head cross country coach. A runner for Mercer University during her college days, she brings an extensive knowledge of the sport with her to Wesleyan.

Did you know that Division III is the NCAA's largest division? Forty percent of all NCAA student-athletes participate at the Division III level and over 440 institutions compete for championships. Wesleyan has been a proud of Division III since 1998.

We were the first college in the world to grant degrees to women. Wesleyan was chartered on December 23, 1836; classes began January 7, 1839 with almost 100 students; our first baccalaureate degree was awarded on July 16, 1840.
