Wesleyan Softball Announces 2018 Recruits

Macon, GA - Despite announcing his retirement last spring, former Wesleyan head softball coach Dickey Hightower continued to work hard on the recruiting trail over the spring and summer seasons, securing seven newcomers for the program and incoming coach Marissa Mariano.

Hightower remarked, "I believe each of these young ladies will come to our program with a chance to push our returners and compete for playing time. It was my goal to leave the program in better shape than when I was there, and I hope these young ladies prove to be a valuable asset to the Wesleyan softball team." 

Mariano added, "I am excited about the players that Coach Hightower has recruited, and I believe they will be a great addition to the program in the upcoming years."

Abby Sparrow
Year: Sophomore

Reason I chose Wesleyan: "I feel my opportunities at Wesleyan are limitless.  I love that I am going to be able to play softball and pursue my career in nursing while at Wesleyan."
 
Hannah Allen

Major: Nursing
Reason I chose Wesleyan: "When I visited Wesleyan, I determined it was the perfect fit for me.  They offer a great nursing program and have a wonderful campus.  I will also be able to continue to live my dream and play college softball."
