Mount Berry, GA - Berry College lived up to their billing as the top ranked team in the nation on Wednesday afternoon, taking two games from Wesleyan, 15-2 and 14-0. The Vikings improved to 23-1 on the season after pounding out 26 hits while holding the Wolves to just two.

  • Wesleyan's two runs in the first game were scored on an RBI single by freshman Savanna Boyette, which pushed Miriam Grant and Nicole Wilson across the plate for the Wolves only score of the day.
  • Although the Wolves struggled to find hits on offense, they only struck out three times in each game against some of the best pitching in the nation.

Wesleyan head coach Dickey Hightower stated, "Berry has a very good team as is evidenced by their record and national ranking. I look for them to be a contender in the D-III championships. We did not quit today, but their bats and our lack of hits were just too much to overcome. We will look to get better this week as we prepare for our conference games this weekend in North Carolina."
